Associate Engineer

At Liferaft, we are looking for a few strong, driven, entry-level or new career transition engineers to join us working on next generation safety nets, using technology to build insurance products that actually work. You will focus on full stack development under the guidance of senior staff with an opportunity to specialize or move into the backend in the future. You'll be joining an early-stage startup with the opportunity to help build the foundation of the business from the ground up. We are experienced startup operators and insuretech/fintech veterans who are passionate about modernizing enormous industries that haven't been updated in decades.

Things you might do:

Build customer service tooling for our support team

Work with product to add a new steps to our enrollment flow

Add the capability for brokers to manage their customers on our platform

Embed dashboards from our analytics platform in our application interface

Partner with an integration engineer to allow users to make self-service policy change requests

Experience you might have:

Experience building web pages with HTML, Javascript, and/or React (bootcamp, OSS, and hobby projects considered)

Experience building an application backend in Python, Go, Ruby, or similar (bootcamp, OSS, and hobby projects considered)

Bonus points for:

Experience working in a startup or corporate environment (need not be as an engineer)

Experience in a bureaucratic environment (we strive to avoid unnecessary bureaucracy but find the experience helps with understanding our industry partners)
